Ron Leisure is a busy man. He is partnered in one business and sole owner of another; both businesses are familiar to local residents.

Leisure opened the metaphysical books and gifts store, Ancient Secrets, for Oscar Reconco in 2006. When Reconco passed away July 3, Leisure bought the business through the estate and relocated it to 1230 S. Loop Road, Building E.

Almost at the same time, Leisure partnered with another familiar business, Treasures, and opened Treasures, From My Home to Yours at 1201 S. Highway 160, Suite 101.

Treasures, co-owned by Marcy Steele, was formerly located at Pahrump Valley and Calvada boulevards.

The two stores cater to very different clientele.

While Treasures, From My Home to Yours caters to those seeking gifts, antiques, collectibles and crafts, Mystical Healing Metaphysical Books and Gifts caters to all forms of religion and spiritual beliefs dating back to 700 B.C.

Treasures is a conglomerate of items offered by those leasing booth space in the store. Steele said she has very little space for lease at the moment, but on Oct. 1, more space will open for those looking for a place to market their items.

The store is a visual kaleidoscope and it takes careful perusal to peer into those nooks and crannies.

Customers will find gourmet goodies and fixings for a one-pot meal artfully arranged in glass jars, handcrafted all-natural beauty products, locally designed craft patterns, stained glass, antique glassware and crystal, Avon and items to decorate your home.

The hours for Treasures, From My Home to Yours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday.

The only metaphysical store in Pahrump, Mystical Healing Metaphysical Books and Gifts caters to almost every religion and belief.

Besides offering self help books, incense, iconic statues and symbolic jewelry, Leisure has expanded the shop to offer all-natural hemp clothing.

The shelves are stocked with crystals and healing stones, music comprised of natural sounds like wind and water for relaxation and chanting used for meditation, and a display case contains locally handcrafted selenite swords used in channeling energy.

Mystical Healing also has a calendar of events which includes support meetings for Gambler’s Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, meet-ups for metaphysical discussion, Reiki healing sessions, and spiritual services on Sunday.

Leisure said the congregation of the Universal Wisdom Church, started by Reconco at the former location, is expanding and a portion of the building is reserved for meetings and services.

Anyone interested in learning Reiki, can sign up for a one-time class on the events calendar for 10 a.m. Sept. 25. The cost is $85 and it will be a certification class.

Mystical Healing Metaphysical Books and Gifts is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday until the winter hours go into effect. At that time, the store will stay open until 6 p.m.

Universal Wisdom Church services are at 10 a.m. Sundays.
