Pahrump is a rural area: why are so many people trying to change Pahrump into a mini-Las Vegas? Commissioner Fely Quitevis is a realtor, her background is for building, developing & selling properties … Commissioner Quitevis seems to not understand what Pahrump is about. Why is she on the Board? Pahrump isn’t for developing, it is a rural are. Pahrump does not have the water that Las Vegas has, Pahrump does not have the transpotation that Las Vegas does, & the Pahrumpians are a very special people who want to live in a peaceful rural area. On the other hand, Commissioner Hollis is a kindly elderly gentelman who just wants to “get along” with everyone. I guess Commissioner Quitevis put the squeeze on Hollis to get this item passed. Well, I’m pleased that we have some REAL Pahrumpian on the Commission who understand that Pahrump is a very special place … and let’s not ruin our wonderful rural area with more crowded trailer parks.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Dwight. Place this thing closer to Walmart. How dare they try to put such a dense development on the outskirts of the valley where it cuts off the views to the desert and has the water lines and traffic going out as far a possible. Yeah, put that thing north south and west of the Walmart complex – where it belongs.

Pahrump doesn’t have the resources for such high density developments. We are a rural community where folks enjoy the advantage of having horses and other livestock options. If you allow high density developments next door to rural homesites, it will only be a matter of time before those living in the subdivision begin complaining about livestock issues.

I moved to Pahrump to retire to a rural environment as did my neighbors. If folks want to live in cramped developments, where you can hear the neighbor coughing next door, then they should relocate to such a city.

Why are the developers attempting to change Pahrump into something wed are not? Thank God this project didn’t pass.
