Home invasion turns deadly

By PAUL JONES

PVT

An attempted home invasion in Pahrump last Thursday turned deadly when the alleged perpetrator was shot dead by his intended victim.

When Nye County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at a home on the 600 block of East Street the evening of July 15, they found the alleged intruder, a still unidentified male, dead at the residence.

A press release from NCSO said deputies had received a call from the homeowner at approximately 10:50 p.m. reporting the home invasion robbery attempt and, upon arriving at the residence, they found the suspect perpetrator dead.

Deputies “processed the crime scene and conducted interviews,” the press release said. The investigation is ongoing, according to the press release.

The identity of neither the homeowner nor the alleged intruder have been released at this time.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact detectives at 775-751 7000 or via email at <a href=ncso_detectives@co.nye.nv.us>ncso_detectives@co.nye.nv.us.

the rise in crime in this city is something to be cautious of. I’ve noticed that the types of crimes are escalating and becoming more violent. I believe that a major factor is the METH problem this city has been facing for years along with the declining economy, it’s making addicts/criminals become more drastic in their attempts to gain money for thier habbits. I encourage the citizens of Pahrump to report any and all concerns to the NCSO immediately. The best way to prevent crime is to be aware, cautious and informed.

This home invasion ended the way they all should. The home owner should be commended for saving the tax payers money and eliminating this threat for others.

But Anna, I thought the whole idea of banning OTC Sudafed, requiring our ID, being added to a national database, and being limited to only so much per month was going to REDUCE the whole meth problem . . .

At least that’s what the government told us. Just give up a bit of liberty and a bit of privacy, all in exchange for SAFETY. Right?

Strange . . . the War on Drugs just goes on and on at great expense with NO tangible results other than jack booted thugs breaking in our doors. And no, I’m not talking of home invasion robberies.

In this case, apparently, the robber got exactly what he deserved.

There are numerous empty homes in neighborhoods. Recently I contacted the NCSO because an empty home next to me had a broken window, and within minutes, the police were there. People, call the NCSO if you see anything suspicious. I live in Cottonwoods area and we have seen an increase in the amount of vandalism. Good for the guy that shot the intruder. I need some target practice, we should all be armed in this town………….The NCSO can only protect us so much, they can’t always see what’s going on……

Most Pahrump residents are ARMED!! Really, if you think of it, this is the Wild West and I think criminals should think twice. Hopefully grandma down the street carries a gun in her home.

First off, none of you should be commenting on this unless you know the truth about what happened. This kid was set up by 2 supposed friends who shot him and then while he was begging for their help he was ignored until he stopped breathing. It was only then that they actually called the police. So this kid could have lived. Secondly, a lot of you parents in Pahrump (and you know who you are) who are addicted to the same drugs these kids are, are just making matters worse. News flash…..over half of the teenagers and young adults in Pahrump are addicted to percocets. They swallow them, smoke them…..whatever gets them higher, faster. I know this is a fact because I had to send my son out of town to get clean because he was addicted to them. That’s what this whole situation was over. Money and pills. Pretty sad that this is what life apparently revolves around in Pahrump right now. And for all you kids who are doing these pills….most of you already have your own children. Is this really the legacy you want to leave your kids? You want them to grow up knowing that drugs were more important than they will ever be to you? It’s time to wake up already. It makes me sick that in my sons short life he has had more friends die over stupid crap than I’ve had in my entire life. Have we really gotten to the point where life doesn’t matter anymore? If so, it’s very sad. I’m just sayin…..

i totally disagree with terry im shure terry doesnt even know the real story.. so lets just stop it… you were not there to know if someone set it up or not you are going off of what the news says ….and the news says its going to rain today so do we all wear our raincoats and take our umbrella..hell no… the intruder got somewhat what he deserved…i dont think he should have lost his life but thats a risk you take when you try to rob someone…just be lucky it wasnt you…

Either way, just another Drug Using / Dealer off the Streets. It is time for the People to take care of themselves. We are all guilty of sitting back and doing nothing. We are getting what we deserve.

I had an incident where I went to a Kids Father and told him I couldn’t Whip his son’s butt because he was under age, but I would go to his home and Beat some Sense into him.

Is violence the answer, no, but it doesn’t seem that anything els has worked either.

I think it is up to the parents to provide their children with the correct dicipline and respect to others so that they turn out to be great adults and parents. so parents wake up and look at your children and say to yourself am I a good parent

I’m from Oklahoma, and we had a similar event last week in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A woman with a concealed permit shot two intruders who were planing of robbery & rape. The robbers were demanding that she produce more money…telling her to undress….and having her to crawl on all fours to get more money from her purse they had thrown on the floor. She reached into her secret compartment & shot one robber in the head through the material of the purse. Actually she shot both of them in the head. Stories like these never make it to the major news networks, because they all support liberal political views. Go here to read about it….

Every body remembers that humen’s life is expensive, nevertheless people need money for various issues and not every one earns big sums money. Thence to get fast personal loans and financial loan should be good way out.

i would love to comment on that parents and young kids taking so callled percocets.. welll what the doctor perscribes is waht he perscribes..i can count on one hand the anount of kids in this town who do drugs even if you put them in prison they still have perscriptions for the drugs they want they may not be able to shoot em or whatever it is that they do with them all i know is the so called victim wanted more than just his fix apparently … he wanted the poor old ladys settlement money not knowing her son was there… he got shot and the homeowner saved three other peoples lives… noone is looking at that tho right.. and the kid also had a drug known as oxycontin 80mg tucked when they did the autopsy..so what does that tell you it apparently waasnt a drug deal gone bad he already had them and just wanted the money… how do you misconscrew the story.. the story doesnt count the evidence does…
