Some people are only limiting themselves to a narrow path to find in life, such as: peruse, confuse, amuse, abuse, misuse, reuse, accuse and excuse. There are other that rhyme — infuse, defuse and refuse, but I just couldn’t figure out where to put them in place with the existing lineup. Ronald Piotter

I would like to commend a young lady for all the volunteer work she does at the animal shelter. She’s been there for almost five years. Being disabled doesn’t stop her from helping in all the areas of the shelter. She has a gift with all animals, not being afraid of them, either. The animals[...]

What liberals like you, Matt H.T.Ward, forget is there are a lot of the “silent majority, Reagan democrats,” and tea party believers still around — and are not, like liberals wish — going away. If anything, with this teleprompter president these people will continue to grow. I believe even Democrats are now realizing they should[...]

I want to acknowledge those who put together the fundraiser that was held on Jan. 17 to raise money for my much needed anti-rejection medication that I will need after my kidney transplant. Thank you to all the people who came to the dinner at the Maverick and bought 50/50 tickets (the tickets for the[...]

A mother’s worst fear is being told your son has to be transported to Las Vegas by ambulance for proper care and services. A million things go through your mind, thinking whether your little one is going to be okay. At first I thought that the ride to the hospital would be filled with worry[...]
