Michael Massey, 17-time World Trick Shot Champion and Billiards Congress of America Hall of Famer, joins the Pahrump Valley Pool League to host a nine-ball pool tournament at noon on Sept. 4 at the Hideaway on South Pahrump Valley Boulevard to raise funds for local non-profit, Quilts 4 Cancer.
Massey will showcase his talents on the pool table at noon. Following Massey’s performance, players can challenge him to a game for a $10 donation to Quilts 4 Cancer. Winners of the challenge will be awarded memorabilia signed by Massey. The tournament between entered players will begin at 2 p.m. and will continue through Sept. 5.
Quilts 4 Cancer is an organization that provides love and support to others by sewing and quilting comfort quilts for those with cancer. Proceeds from the event will benefit Quilts 4 Cancer and their current quilt project for veterans.
The Veterans quilt project is part of the organization’s special outreach focusing on cancer patients who are veterans or relatives of veterans.
“Quilts 4 Cancer is able to provide care and warmth to cancer patients through donation and community support. It’s great to have an event where people can be entertained, have fun and help us help others,” said Barb Johnston, co-founder and director of Quilts 4 Cancer.
The tournament is open to the public for $30. Players can register by contacting Sherry Dalton at sherry@pv8bl.com or 702-501-7744. Door prizes and a raffle will be held to win a Massey signature cue.
