Seniors off to Arizona

Pahrump Senior Center will sponsor a luxury bus trip for three days and two nights in Arizona.

The bus will leave Wulfy’s parking lot at 7 a.m. Sept. 14, have lunch in Seligman and visit the Grand Canyon.

Overnight accommodations will be at the Luxury Holiday Inn Express in Flagstaff.

Tickets also include two breakfast buffets, all park fees and opportunities for shopping, scenic Red Rock Country and visiting museums.

NCMA meets

Nevada Country Music Ass0ciation will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 at Tommasino’s.

All musicians, songwriters and country music fans are invited to attend.

The main topic of discussion will be hosting a variety show.

NCMA promotes country music and supports local musicians. Membership is $25 yearly.

Sock Hop

Ms. Senior Nye County will sponsor a Sock Hop from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 4, at the Pahrump Nugget.

“Remember When” will be the theme, so break out the poodle skirts and bobby socks and dance to music from the 1950s and 60s.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, live entertainment and prizes.

Karen Jackson of KNYE will emcee.

Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple.

Must be 21 to attend. There will be food, drinks and a cash bar.

Farmer’s Market

The UNC Master Gardeners Farmer’s Market will be open from 7 to 11 a.m., each Saturday in Petrack Park.

A chamber music group is seeking those with experience playing piano, violin, cello or viola to meet, practice and rehearse.

Pahrump Singles Friendship Club will meet at the following locations:

Sept. 4 — potluck, 3 p.m., UNR Extension Office, 1651 Calvada Blvd., cold summer fare.
